How to find your skin type? Yes the world of skincare is very confusing. Oily, dry, dehydrated. What even all there words mean? And I totally understand the feeling of walking into Sephora skincare department and asking the questions and they ask you what is your skin type. And you don't really know the answer. I'v been there, all of us have been there. I will try to teach you how easily you can understand your skin type. First of all why finding your skin type matters? Because your skin needs help. That's the reality. We all need help with our skin. Finding your skin type will help you to learn how to help your skin. It makes a huge difference, because if you are using wrong products you are not going to see the results you are looking for. I will try to explain as simply as possible.

Now, what is a skin type? Skin types refers to the hydration level of your face. Moisture and hydration are necessary to have a good skin. But our body often doesn't work with us in the best way possible to get our skin as hydrated as possible. And when our skin is not hydrated we start to see wrinkles appear, dark spots, flakiness and lot of more issues web don't want to experience. By learning which skin type you have you will be able to understand how you can best help your skin to get the most hydration while looking absolutely best.

Step 1. USE THE GENTLE CLEANSER WHILE YOU ARE SHOWERING.

WHEN YOU ARE OUT OF THE SHOWER DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH YOUR SKIN AT LEAST 15 MIN. JUST LET IT REST.

Step 2. CHECKING YOUR SKIN.

Ather the 15 min is done go to the mirror and closely examine your skin. If you notice shininess, almost looking like sweat this means you have an oily skin. If you notice your skin feels very tight and stripped almost like there is no hydration in your face or you notice some flakiness, little lines when you make facial expressions, that means you have a dry skin. If you notice that certain spots are really shiny, and the other spots feel tight or stripped, that means you have a combination skin. But if you don't notice any tightness, greasiness, your skin seems to be ok that's means you have normal skin.

3. PORES

Another tip how to find your skin type is by looking at the size of your pores. The bigger the pores the more active the skin is in creating oils. So more likely your skin will be oily, and the smaller the pores are, the less oil your skin is producing and your skin is dry. That can be sometimes more helpful for people who are in more humid or really dry, hot climate.  When you are sweating all the time it's really difficult to understand what type of hydration your skin needs.

You may have heard words like dehydrated or sensitive skin type. Let me just explain, those are not skin types but skin concerns. There is a difference. If you hear someone telling you that your skin is dehydrated and nothing else that's not good. You need to understand your skin type. Unless you have normal skin, everyone else has dehydrated skin in some way or another. From what I have learned your skin type is the manifestation of the hydration level of your face. When the skin is lacking of essential hydration that needs that shows in different ways, producing a lot of oil or not producing any oil at all. Pretty much all of us have dehydrated skin, also if you heard people saying you have sensitive skin that is also skin concern not skin condition. Because you can have super oily skin and have sensitive skin or you can have super dry skin and sensitive too.

Knowing your skin type will make it a little bit easier in finding which products will work best for your skin,  and saving a lot of money too.
